Russell Dallas left Monday to join
the Southwestern university football
squad in the traming camp on the
Easley ranch near Taylor. After
good work Tast year, Russell is con-
sidered one of the mainstays of the
southwester team this year.
Miss Opal Wallace returned Satur-
day from Dallas and has taken up her
duties as expression teacher in the
Decatur kigh school. Monday eve-
ning Mise Wallace gave an enter-
tainment at the courthouse when she
presented "The Lillies! Rebel - A

and all enjoyed themselves.

Mr. and Mrs. Mack Cates were here
from Fort Worth Sunday.
Some of the bestfarmers in this sec-
tion are of the openion that boll wee-
vil are doing great damage to the late
cotton in Wise county at this time.
Sone of the farmers say that one
month ago they had cotton they be-
lieved would make in the neighbor-
hood of a hale to the acre: now the
same cotton will not make half that
amount. There are lots of squares
but very few blooms and bolls. Boll

Parade is at Noon
Yankee Robinson Circus and Wild
West Parade Take- Place
At Noon.
The Y. W. A. met Monday after-
noon at the Baptist church. The sub-
ject of the lesson for the meeting was
"Gideon,” which was lead by leader
Mrs. Hughes. It was decided to di-
vide the Y. W. A. into two sections,
of whica Mrs. Hunt and Mrs Koy
Heathington were elected leaders.
Miss Annie Plaxco was appointed
press reporter; Mrs. Ella Gentry
and Mrs. Tom Renfro were appointed
on personal service committee.
Misses Johnnie Blankenship, Annie
Plaxco and Mrs. Roy Heathington on
telephone committee. It was decided
to help pay the expenses of the young
lady whom the Baptist churches of
the county are to send to the Baptist
college: also for each member to
bring some gift at each meeting to be
distributed among the poor and inva-
lids of the town. The organization
will meet at the home of Mrs. Ella
entv of amusement, however, and it
advisable when convenient, to come
Baylor college.
Miss Margrete Fonder left Wednes-
day for school in Denton. She will at-
tend the Cellege of Industrial Arts.
