The Beth Israel Form this Fri-
day night and Saturday morning,
Dec. 16 and 17, presents Stuart
Eizenstat as guest speaker; the
American Agenda: Priorities for the
Next President is the overall topic.
This Forum deals with matters that
have long-range impact on the
well-being of this nation and Is-
rael.
The community is urged to at-
tend the Shabbat service at Con-
gregation Beth Israel at 8:15 p.m.,
Friday night, Dec 16, when Stuart
Eizenstat will speak from the pul-
pit and then field questions during
a seated Oneg Shabbat. Discus-
sion will continue Saturday at 9:45
a.m., after a light buffet breakfast
at 9:15 a.m.
When the American Agenda
was announced to the press, Eiz-
enstat spoke in terms of "front-
burner, first-year issues that a
president has to deal with wheth-
er he wants to or not" and "those
land mines he's likely to step on
unless he's alerted to them".
At the Beth Israel Forum, Eizen-
stat will clarify and give current
perspective on those front-burner
issues the Bush administration
must tackle now. As coexecutive
director of the American Agenda,
he is able to disclose some of the
options and possible solutions
proposed by the bipartisan group
of eminent former government
officials and advisors enlisted for
this task. He will focus on How
The New Administration Looks At
Israel in his principal address from
the pulpit on Friday night.
In addition to his intimate in-
volvement in the work of the
American Agenda and his knowl-
edge and broad experience in do-
mestic and international policy
matters, Eizenstat is a prominent
figure in Jewish and American-
Israeli organizations and causes.
A Washington lawyer and deeply
committed Jew, he spearheaded
the federal matching grant pro-
gram for Soviet Jews emigrating
to America; the anti-Arab boycott
amendment; the recommendation
that a national Holocaust Memo-
rial Council be formed and a pro-
cedure which permitted over
40,000 Iranian Jews to come to
