counting system, Walker
pointed out.
The Association is federally
insured up to $10,000. In re-
cent years, Walker said, its
growth has exceeded half a
million dollars each year. In-
dication of an annual growth
rate of 81 million brought the
necessity for construction of
the new building.
“The Association has been
proud of its record of growth
through the years, and at the
same time boasted of the
soundest lending practices
and low cost loans for the
people it servos,” Walker
said.
“The ease and convenience
of its savings accounts has
kept pace with modern needs.
The current savings rate 4%
per cent compounded semi-
annually is competitive with
any of the savings and loans
in the area. We are proud
to offer our new building to
the public. We hope the build-
ing and its landscaping will
be an attractive asset to our
fine community and, through
the pledged efforts of all con-
cerned with the savings and
loan, meet the needs of all
the people of the area,” he
added.
