Money Market Better.
St. Paul July 1. —The money mar-
ket in the Northwest is easing per-
ceptibly. The commercial p«i»er is
bringing 5 1-2 to 6 1-2 per cent inter-
est. Farm mortgages are scarce. The
Ninth District Federal Reserve bank is
said to be planning to cut the redis-
count rates to 4 1-2 per cent and
member banks are expected to follow
with cuts of frm 5 to 5 1-2 per cent
although bankers complain that rates
are already too low and the valum€
of loans too small to produce fair re-
turns. » _
