The Boerne Star
Creation vs Evolution
Why can’t we figure this out
Pet of the Week
By the time most of us get to be
what we can refer to as mature
adults, I suppose we have kind of
made up our minds as to what we
believe as far as how the earth and
man were created. As of this point in
time, I think there are only two pre-
vailing theories as to how this all
happened. Those two theories are
commonly referred to as creation-
ism and evolution.
Now, as much as some folks would
like to argue that in the beginning
man crawled out of some primor-
dial swamp many millions of years
ago, I think otherwise.
First off, you’d have to be nuts to
totally disregard the evidence we
can see in fossils and other hard
physical information of our world
evolving over a long period of time.
What that time period was or is,
happens to be God’s business, not
mine, so I don’t really care if it took
six days or six billion years. Not my
problem.
My theory and acceptance of cre-
ationism is based on the fact that we
have two, count ‘em, two sexes.
Now if we were products of evolu-
tion why wouldn’t we have ended
up with just one?
Some species do have just one sex
neutral something rather than male

something or female something? It
makes no sense at all. I give you this
example, for the past few weeks
I’ve been concerned over the health
of my prostate gland. Nothing indi-
cated that I have any problem, but
since I haven’t had any problems
something that I don’t know about
until it’s entirely too late to check
out.
You can’t watch the news at night
without becoming halfway paranoid
about some terminal disease or ill-
ness. Anyway, I convinced myself
that something was happening and I
needed to check it out.
I made an appointment to go see a
local urologist and then cancelled
three times before I worked up the
nerve to actually go in and face the
music.
I finally gutted it up and went in
and do just fine. They manage to yesterday. It took all of about 45
reproduce and survive without any minutes for the doctor to tell me I
of the emotional evolution is what was fine and didn’t need to worry
it’s supposed to be. Why complicate about anything. Well, of course I’m
the situation with the emotional bag- ecstatic and came home dancing
gage that we have as male and about a foot or so off the ground,
female? My wife wants to know what I’m so
Why not just exist as plain old happy about and of course I tell her,
however I forgot that I had told her I
was going to the bank instead of
going to the doctor. I’m happy, she’s
mad and sad or sad and mad, I can’t
tell which. Her condition comes as a
result of my not telling her that I am
concerned about something. My
rationale is that she couldn’t do any-
thing about it anyway so why worry
her for no reason? Her train of
thought is that she should have
known about it so she could worry
right alongside of me. Why? What
for?
Obviously this becomes a
male/female thing and goes on for
several hours.
Now, she sees what I’ve done in a
completely different light and from
a different perspective than I do. My
rationale for keeping my fear a
secret is to protect her. Her rationale
is that she should be included in
anything as important as this to
begin with.
Now, how does this relate to cre-
ationism? Well, simply this, if we
were evolved instead of created as
in Adam and Eve, and evolution is a
constant refinement of the species
over many thousands or millions of
years, then why haven’t we gotten
any further than we have in basic
male/female emotions?
Looks to me that we’ve got a long
way to go and if we really were cre-
ated through the evolutionary
process then why wouldn’t we just
solve this ourselves since we’d be
both male and female at the same
time? Then we’d only have to argue
with ourselves. Comments go to

The truck driver of this rig, registered to a Joplin, Missouri company, walked away from this wreck, which occurred on
State Highway 87, north of Comfort. The accident happened shortly after noon on Tuesday 6.5 miles north of the US 87
and Interstate 10 intersection. The rig was southbound and heading down a hill and started to slide. The driver man-
aged to keep the rig from flipping but jack-knifed instead, blocking the northbound lane of traffic. A Kendall County
deputy said that a rain-slickened road may have contributed to the lack of control the driver experienced cominq down
the hill.
