AUSTIN, June 21.—P—Dr. Rob-
art L Sutherland, Professor of so-
ciology at Bucknell university. Lew-
isburg. Pa. today had accepted di-
rectorship of the Hogg Foundation,
endowed mental health program
administered by the University of
Texas.
Dr. Sutherland who also is asso-
date director of the American
youth commission, will take over
his new duties Sept. 1. In addition,
he will become professor of sociol-
ogy at the University of Texas
The foundation he will head was
created from a fund estimated at
$2,500,000 in the estate of the late
Will C Hogg Houston philanthro-
pist. The fund is administered by
the University’s board of regents.

Bucknell and chairman of the

The program includes a survey of
mental health conditions in Texas,
establishment of mental hygiene
clinics, provision of mental hygiene
instruction , in teacher training
courses, facilities for research at
