Sgt. James A. Richardson, son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Richardson, who
spent more than three years in the
armed forces with two and one half
years in the ETO. is now home with
an honorable discharge. He plans
visiting in California, after a brief
stay here. He will also enter UCLA
where he will continue his educa-
tion. Prior to his inducton. Sgt.
Richardson was a sophomore at Pr-
airie view college, where he was
a chemistry major.
Rev. E. D. Bonner, who pastored
St. John AME church here for sev-
eral years, was promoted to pre- 1
siding elder during the recent con-
ference held at Bastrop. Mr. Henry
is confined to his home ill.
A Sunday school rally was held -
on the campus of Macedonia Bap-
tist church on Sunday, Sunday school 1
opened at the usual hour with Sup- 1
erintendent Ed Rodgers in charge 1
Bible class was taught by the pas- 1
tor, Rev. L. Peterson. The men's
class was taught by George Brooks
The women raised 121.10 and the :
men $26.80.
Allen Q. Nelson of San Antonio, .
was a visitor in Brenham Saturday
for a few hours. Miss Bert Hoskins,
teacher in the Palestine community
and Miss Mary O. Cheeks, teacher
in the Cedar Hill community school,
were visitors in the city Saturday.

The Reverend L. H. Simpson per-
formed the simple but impressive

by wrought iron candelabra, which
gave soft illumination.
Mrs. Gertrude Willis, pianist, pro-
vided the wedding music, which in-
cluded the traditional marches. Miss
Lily Burns, soloist, sang "Ave Mar-
ia" and "I Love You Truly."
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a gown of white
satin and chiffon, with V-shaped
neckline, fitted bodice and full skirt.
Around her neck she wore a three-
strand pearl necklace. Her three-
quarter length veil fell from a cor-
onet inset with seed pearls. She car-
ried a white leather-bound bible
overlaid with a white, purple thro-
ated orchid and stephanotis with
white satin ribbon streamers.
Miss Helen McCree, the brides
only attendant, was gowned in pink
taffeta and net, and carried a nose-
gay of seasonal flowers of unusual
design.

lumined on one end with a silver
candelabra. On the other end was
placed an enormous white cake of
double ring design, decorated with
orchids and stephanotis. with a
fluted edge, and centered on a mir-

Many relatives and friends of the
couple were present.
Mrs. Ed Starks had charge of the
wedding arrangements and Mrs. L.
G. Bennett assisted.
The couple are at home at 2710
Tuam street.

dent of Jack Yates High school, is
now stationed in Bainbridge, Mary-
land. He sends hello to his many
