COMMERCIAL SIGNS OF CHRISTMAS DOWNTOWN
Cleburne merchants are decorating
their windows with holly, giant paper
Santa Clauses and other gay Christras
trees of all colors. Yet some people
are going out on their own to cut down
their trees. Stores are having gigantic
sales on their items. During this rush,
people are buying their presents. Others race of long ago.
are going to buy theirs later. The
grocery stores are selling all sorts of
food. It looks as if everyone is going
to have a very Happy Christmas!

TRIPS TAKEN OVER THE HOLIDAYS
Christmas is a time to celebrate the
birth of Christ and to be spent with
families.
The school faculty and studentsheads, one knife and a tomahawk. I
are keeping this custom. Many of the
teachers are going out of town to be
with their family or to join in family
reunions. Others are going to stay
home and enjoy being out of school. Mrs.
Ross is going to spend a peaceful holi-
day with her parents in Odessa. Mrs.
Arnold is going to take part in a family
reunion in Fort Worth. The students of
Fulton do not have to go far to be with
their parents, but will enjoy being
with them. Eilene Smith is planning to
go to Washington, D. C.

CHRI SIMAS
It’s Christmas, the season to be
jolly. The gifts, the feasting, the
music, the bright lights, and the merry
company will make one very happy.
However, we should not think only of our
own wishes, but we should seek to bring
happiness to others. Thus shall the
true spirit of Christmas - to conquer
selfishness and bring to the world the
peace and good will which should attend
the birthday of the King,
OUR FLAG
We wish to express our appreciation
to Billy Holmes and Charles Hood for
raising and lowering our flag each day.
This is an important job, and we thank
them for their cooperation and assistance.

the land of the free and /
the home of the brave." A

I often dig fossils
with my grandfather. My equipment is
a geologist’s hammer, chisel, magnifying
glass, compass, notebook and pencil,
heavy gloves, newspapers and a fidd bag.
The total cost of these items is about
nine dollars#
We travel to many places. The one
that I like best is Pecan Bayou. Here,
my grandfather found eighty-two arrow-
found forty-eight arrowheads and a knife.
We have a large collection of things
that we have found. Traveling and hunt-
ing fossils is fun.

PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS
There are many talented music pupils
in our school. Some have taken lessons
for five or six years, but they keep it
to themselves. We have many excellent
piano teachers in the town who help the
pupils develop their talent. Many of
them belong to the Guild. This group
has an official judge who grades the
students and tells the teachers what they
need to do to improve. Music is fun!
