Youth Rallies Slated Tonight
The first of a series of monthly Army and Air Force Recruiting
citywide youth rallies has been set

for 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Imman-
uel Baptist Church.
The rallies, sponsored by the
Baptist Churches of Abilene, will
be held on Saturday night out of
each month until April leading up
to the annual spring youth rally.
Floyd Haddock, 18, junior at Har-
din-Simmons University, will be
speaker for the first rally. Haddock,
a ministerial student majoring in
history and a Cowboy football
player, is serving as pastor on al-
ternate Sundays for the Looney
Baptist Church near Colorado City.
His home is at Karnack in Harri-
son County.
Forgery Charged
Charge of forgery was filed
against Cecil Wyatt of Brownfield
in Justice of Peace Tom St John's
Court Friday. Wyatt was arrested
in Cisco. He allegedly gave a for
ged check on the Farmers & Mer-
chants National Bank of Abilene
to Neely Barnes on Nov. 29 for
$12.95.
Bond had not been set in the
case. Complaint will be investigat-
ed by the 42nd District Court grand
jury meeting Jan. 5.
Girl Scouts to Carol
Girl Scout leaders have made
plans for a caroling party for Girl
Scouts for Thursday night, Dec. 1.
The party will start from the

St. at 7 p.m. Reservations from

Potter County Rapist
Gets Execution Stay
AUSTIN. Dec. 12 W — Samuel
James Gasway of Potter County
today was given the customary 30-
day constitutional stay of execu-
tion.
He was sentenced to death for
rape.
The action by Gov. Shivers
moves Gasway's scheduled execu-
tion from Jan. 20 to Feb. 19.
