Thanksgiving Rites
Set at 1st Baptist
STAMFORD, Nov 19 (RNS) -
People of Stamford and surround-
ing area will join in a community-
wide Thanksgiving service Wednes-
day night at the First Baptist
Church.
The service, to open at - 7:30
p m., will be sponsored by the Min-
isterial Alliance of which Rev. H.
E. Barnard is president.
Dr. Hugo B Haterius, pastor of
the Bethel Lutheran Church of
Ericksdahl, will preach the Thanks-
giving sermon.
Special music will be given by
the choir of the host church with
Rod Latta, music and education di-
rector, in charge.
Ministers of all churches will take
part.
Reds Allow Flying
VIENNA, Austria, Nov. 19 tin-

auditorium.
Georgia Bernstine of Albany gave
the invocation Annette Harrell of
Graham gave the devotional. Escoe
Webb, principal of Abilene High
School, gave the welcome and
Treva Greenlee of Breckenridge
presented the response.
Miss Hall introduced guests. Gay
Hancock of Abilene led the group
in a sing-song accompanied by
Jean Harrington of Woodson on the
piano.

LUBBOCK, Nov. 19 - Two Abi-
lene area students, Guy Robert
(Bob) Beckham, 790 Orange St .
Abilene, and Huda Hassen, Stam-
ford. have been chosen for the 1955
56 "Who’s Who in American Col-
lege and Universities” by a Texas
Tech student and faculty commit-
tee.
Beckham is a senior agriculture
major and is president of two fra-
ternal organizations. Phi Gamma
Delta and the Inter-Fraternity
Council. He is a member of Block
and Bridle. Alpha Zeta, Aggie Club,
Board of Student Organizations,
and is a student council representa-
tive.
Selections were based on excel-
lence in scholarship, character,
leadership and service to the stu-
dent body.

Electrical Jobs

Applications are being accepted i
at Abilene Air Force Base for the 5
positions of civil engineer GS-9, $5,-
440 per year, and air conditioning
and refrigeration servicer WB-15, i
and electrician WB-15 with starting
pay of $1.92 per hour, James E.
McKillip, civilian personnel of-
ficer, announced.
A college degree in engineering |
plus one and a half years engi-
neering experience, preferably with !
the Air Force, or a total of five
and one-half years experience are
required for the Civil Engineer
position.
For the other positions at least
four years experience in the trade
is required, except that electrician
experience may be substituted for
refrigeration experience for the air
conditioning and refrigeration serv-
icer, and three of the required four
years experience as electrical line-
man may be ae an electrician.
Appointments will be civil serv-5
ice with 40-hour week, annual leave
holidays and other benefits
Standard Form 57, application for
federal employment, may be sub-
mitted to the civilian personnel of-
ficer, Abilene Air Force Base. Ap-
plication forms may be obtained
from the post office or from the
civilian office at base beadquar-
ters.
