der’s Junior Chamber of Commerce Fovors simpler form
has started a drive to call a bond
election for a library building and
improvements at the airport and
—park.---\
Jaycee president Steve Birdwell
said members voted unanimously
to circulate petitions asking county
commissioners court to call an
election. Ray Houpt and Art
Blanchard were named co-chair-
men of a petitions committee
Projects covered by the propos-
ed bond issue include the building
of a northeast-southwest runway at
Winston Field, the Scurry County
airport. Also planned are the con-
struction of a library building and
improvements of park facilities in
the county.
The Budding Board of Exami-
ners and Appeals will suggest to
the City Commission Friday that
the present building permit appli-
cation form .be simplified. William
M. Collier Jr. chairman of the
,board, said Monday night.
The board discussed the building
permit form after a. flare-up at
last Friday's commission meeting,
at which builders complained that
the new form set, up by the In-
spection Department is toe com-
plicated, lengthy and time-con-
suming.
However, the board suggested
that detailed listings of building
specifications be submitted by the
builders on a separate form.
