On Monday, Oct. 3, a local senior
citizen received an official sounding
phone call from a lady who identified
herself as a representative from an
organization claiming to be connected
with national security. The local
resident was told her bank account

• A Leonard man contacted po-
lice on Sept. 25 at 10:55 p.m. after
he observed people that he didn’t
approve of over at a house that he
owns, but rents out to a tenant. The
officer told the man that the people
were guests of the tenant and police
could not force them to leave.
• Leonard police investigated a
suspicious vehicle that was parked
at a Leonard business for over 45
minutes on the evening of Sept 26.
The driver, a Wolfe City man, said
. that he was having trouble get-
ting cell phone reception and had
stopped in the parking lot to talk to
his girlfriend.,
• A Leonard woman called police
on Sept. 17 at 6:52 p.m. after discov-
ering that somebody had removed a
window air conditioning unit to gain
entry to the inside of her home. She
told officers that when she arrived
home from work she observed the
dresser drawers open and in disarray.
She soon found evidence that some-
body had removed the window unit.
She told officers that her and her two
sons had checked over things and the
only thing they could find missing
was money in change from the boy’s
bedrooms and an opened bottle of
wine out of the refrigerator.
• Two Leonard football players
contacted officers on Sept. 29 at
9:35 p.m., after their vehicles were
tampered with while parked at the
football stadium. One boy was at a
local business when he received a
phone call from a friend who said
there were some people around
his car that they knew to be from
a nearby town. When he returned
to the location he found the wires
to an amplifier pulled loose, but no
other damage was reported. The
second young man was leaving the
field in his truck when some friends
in the car behind him flagged him
down and said it looked like his tire
was wobbling. The boy checked all
four tires and determined that the
lug nuts were loosened on each one
of his wheels. 1
• Leonard police took a 31-,
year-old Leonard man into custody
on Sept. 30 at 10:42 p.m. after he ,
was pulled over on a routine traffic
stop and found to have a warrant ‘
for his arrest. The man was driving
a 1996 black Ford car that officers
determined by radar was traveling a

zone. The man was found to have
