Grace Avery
Jan. 14,1923 - Dec. 19,2009
Grace Avery, age 86, passed away on
Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009. Born in Grayson,
Louisiana, on Jan. 14, 1923, she was the
daughter of Ira Hogg and Elizabeth “Bes-
sie” Reeves Hogg.
Grace had lived in Gonzales since Sep-
tember 2009, having lived in Boerne for
five years prior to this time. She had worked
with her husband, Dr. Jack Avery in Ft.
Worth for a number of years.
Preceded in death by her parents, four
brothers and three sisters, first husband,
Jack Payton, and second husband, Dr. Jack
Avery
Avery, Mrs. Avery is survived by children,
Jacqueline Denyer and her husband Tom, and Sue Penney and her
husband Forrest; stepchildren Jim Avery, and Kathleen Yuras and
husband Dennis; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were on Wednesday, Dec. 23, at the Stroud
