♦ CALF CREEK NEWS +
: By Mrs. Bryan Bradshaw +
Mr. O. M. Bradshaw and Miss
Esther Bingham Are Married
Calf Creek, Texas, May 3. —
Since the last writing, the writ-
er as mother of one child, a son
has undergone the second of three
great steps in the life of her child.
As we see it, the first step is the
morning the mother sees him off
to his first day in school. We are
“proud and yet we have a little
oar, for he is not a baby any
. moate," he, is going out into the
world now to try his wings for
himself. Have I, as his mother,
succeeded in preparing him for
this step? Then the next step—
the one he has taken now—as Sat-
urday evening, April 29th, our son,
0. M. Bradshaw and Miss Esther
Bingham, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. C. 0. Bingham, of this com-
munity were united in marriage
by Rev. E. C. McDonald, pastor of
the First Baptist Church of Bra-
dy.
Now, since this step has been
taken, the preparation begins for
the final step, As they journey
through life, may God help them
to always be strong enough to
arise from the stumbles in life as
better citizens and climb the steeps
so that when life’s battle is won,
the world may be a little better for
having had the young couple, who
are now young and have started
out in life. This poem written to
a son by a mother, we think, ex-
presses every mother’s heart:
TO MY SON
Do you know—that your soul is of
my soul sucl a part,
That you seem to be fiber and
care of my heart?
None others can pain me, as you
dear, can do;
None others can please me or
praise me, as you.
Remember the world will be quick
with its blame,
If shadow or stain ever darken
your name,
Like mother, like son, is a saying
so true.
The world judges largely of moth-
er by you.
Be yours then the task if task it
should be.
To force the proud world to do
homage to me.
Be sure it will say when its ver-
dict you’ve won.
She reaped as she sowed, Lol this
is her son!

Bradshaw of Calf Creek were unit-
