The State Board of Water Engi-
neers Tuesday afternoon had an order
ready to sign granting Brady a water
permit to build a city lake on Brady
Creek.
The board's order also was attempt -
ing to answer Eden's objections by
reserving 2,000 acre-feet of water
from Brady Creek watershed for fu-
ture development in the Eden vicin-
ity. Eden, however, is not specifically
named in the order.
The Brady permit would grant au-
thority to build a 30,000. acre-foot
lake.
The City would be permitted to
appropriate 3,500 acre-feet of water
from the lake annually. Brady had
been asking to use 4,800 acre-feet
annually.
Although the board reduced the
amount of water Brady can use from
the lake, the size of the lake itself was
not changed. The board went into
conference to write the order after
hearing the testimony Tuesday morn-
ing.
As in the first meeting last October
most of Tuesday's testimony was con-
cerned with Eden's objections. Eden
was represented by Austin Attorney
Tom Gee, Eden Attorney Emzy
Swaim, and Coleman engineer Bill
Leach
