The Ben Barn also collects alumi-

to the purchase of food.
The Ben Barn distributes food and
clothing to an average of 150 fami-

"We received over 450 family
applications last year and expect to
purchase over 100,000pounds of food
this year due to the increased require-
ments of the community," said Don
Miller, Minister of the Brady Com-
munity Church. "Of those families
served, about 63 percent are single
adult households (predominately eld-
erly) with the balance being two-or-
more adult households. We have 115
families with 201 children under 12
years of age currently enrolled.

ployees of the local area food stores
help in this project by encouraging
management to provide food and
other services. They are to be con-
gratulated for their generosity.
"Indeed, the Ben Barn is an asset
to the Brady community. In addition
to the food and clothing distribution,
the Ben Barn provides a contact point
for God to work through us to help
others and enrich their lives. The Be-
nevolence Barn is a success that can
grow even more with community sup-
port," said Miller.

Barn's outreach program or to make a

Chinese restaurant
coming to Brady
Jason Yang, a 26-year-old New
Jersey resident has purchased the
vacant Club Cafe building and will
be opening a Chinese Restaurant.
The closing on the property oc-
curred recently and local contractors
are already hard at work renovating
the facility and getting it ready for
opening.
According to individuals involved
with the financial dealings of the pur-
chase, Yang began his search for a
new restaurant location in Austin.
Traveling through San Antonio, San
Angelo, Abilene and Brownwood,
he ended up in Brady.
Yang hopes to have the restaurant
"open for business by Mother’s Day.
