According to Mrs. Gardner,
"The play is the group's first serious
drama. It's set during an era (1917)
when women had few rights in so-
ciety, and is about a woman who
has been accused of murdering her
husband."
The woman will not be tried by a
jury of her peers, as we know today, *
but will be tried by a jury of 12 men.
The play is set in the rural midwest
farm home of the accused, where

RISD rewards students
for perfect attendance
These students from Rochelle Independent School District were
recently recognized during a Perfect Attendance Awards Assembly.
To qualify for the drawing, the students must have no absences and no
tardies for the entire six weeks. Each student with perfect attendance
and no tardies gets their name included in a drawing for 10 prizes.
This six weeks the big prize was a Schwinn Electric Scooter won by
sixth-grader Dakota Smith (left). Prize winners pictured above are
(front row, left to right) fourth-graders Kody Wolfe and Kevin Muniz;
(back row) third-grader Mayce Donowho, sixth-grader Dakota Smith;
third-grader Ashley Miller and second-grader Ashley Sellers. Winners
not pictured are sixth-graders, Ty Shackelford and Dylan Pierce; and
Ilth-grader, Becca Willmann and Tommy Fields.
Bring out the pig, it's smooching time tonight in Rochelle
Tuesday night, Nov. 8, during the Lady Hornets' basketball game against
Priddy, Rochelle Independent School District Principal, Scott Edmondson,
will come lips-to-lips with a pig.
During the fall festival held in late October, there were three collection
jars set up by the freshman class. The teacher/administrator who received the
most tickets would be destined to meet up with "Miss Piggy" for a smooching
session during the first home basketball games of the season.
The three, individuals named in the contest were coach Joe Johanson,
ohiei
Edmondson and Supt. Steve Butler. Edmondson won hands down, according,
to Butler, and the freshman class generated a considerable amount of money
through the fund-raiser.
Butler encourages everyone to come out to Rochelle tonight (Tuesday,
Nov. 8) to witness this unorthodox display of affection.
"You'll not only get to watch the principal kiss a pig, but you'll also get to
see a great basketball game against the No. 5 state-ranked Priddy Pirates,”
he said.
