Worth gave Dallas a trimming la
both ends of the double header Bun-
day. The Cats copped the first
game, T to 8, and won the second,
a to 1. Wachtel and Collins were
the opposing hurlers la the opener
and Walkup bested Love la the sec-
ond. :
Fort Worth got off to a three raa
lead la the opening game. They
added four more ia the fifth in-
nine. Sears and Miller clouted out
homers tn the first and Koney

to the second.
Dallas scored in the first frame
of the second game, but the six time
champions came back to knot the
count. The teams battled on even
terms until the fourth inning when
Fort Worth put two runs over.

appropriate display of fireworks
was used to celebrate the Fourth of
July here Sunday, with the Sports
laying the heaviest barrage to boat
the Spudders. 18 to 11, in two hours
and M minutes of baseball and near
baseball. 5
The Sports, and Spudders each
hauled out. four pitchers’ in fruit-
less efforts to halt the celebration,
with Shovel Hodge finally being
charged, with the loss and Harry
Thompson credited with the victory.
The Spudders hopped on Barna-
bee and Cantrell for five runs in
the first inning, but the 1 Sports
grouped a quartet la each the first
and second, winning after the lead
had changed hands several, times.
Roberts, Ross and Hodge in turn
were cannonaded from the hillock,
with Hoffman leading the assault
with a pair of home runs.
