Charges of aggravated assault
on a police officer were filed Fri-
day afternoon in County Court-at-
Law against Winston Wayne Phil-
lips, 46, of 1117 Mulberry
The charges were filed after
City Policeman Bill VanZandt was
struck fa the face while carrying
Phillipe to the police station.
Phillipa had been arrested at N
12th and Plum after police had
been called to investigate a sus-
pected drunk.
VanZandt said there was no in-
cident when Phillips was placed
in the police car, but that soon
