FRIDAY J ANUARY 19 1894
THE ONWARD MARCH
of Consumption is stopped short
by Dr. Pierce’s Golden Medical
Discovery. Always if you
haven’t waited beyond reason
there’s complete recovery and
►cure. In those scrofulous con-
ditions of the blood w hich invite
Consumption; in severe linger-
ing Coughs and Weak Lungs
which “threaten you with it”
in Consumption itself and when
other help has failed—this medi-
cine is a proved remedy.
As a Mood-cleanser strength-
restorer and flesh-builder noth-
Ing like it is known to medical science. The
“Discovery” far Furpasses nasty Cod Liver
Oil and all its fllthv compounds as a flesh-
builder for those reduced in weight below a
healthy standard. It is guaranteed as no
other medicine of the kind. In all lingering
Bronchial Throat and Lung affections and
in every disease that can be reached through
the blood-if it ever fails to benefit or cure
you have your money back.
Prompt relief and a permanent cure for
your Catairh will certainly follow the use
of Dr. Sage’s Catarrh Remedy. Its makers
will pay 1500 reward for any incurable case.

Minor Notes of Interest in an Un-
pretentious Neighborhood.
From the Roseville Bugle.
The donation party at Rev.
Spiker’s last Tuesday evening was
a huge success. The reverend was
presented with a beautifully bound
“Guide to the Holy Land” and
Mrs. Spiker received a handsome
crimson plush album. Dame
Rumor whispers that Rev. Spiker’s
salary will be raised to $4OO a year
before next Christmas.
Artson Boggs proposes to add a
story to his cheese factory in the
spring. There is lots of enterprise
in Boneville yet.
Our old friend William Banks
ruined a pair of $8 pants last week
by slipping on a piece of bark and
falling with his left limb against a
rapidly revolving saw at the saw-
mill on Simpson’s creek. The limb
was also cut clear off near the
thigh joint. Mr. Banks is one of
our best citizens.
It was reported the day before
yesterday that Jackson Maguire
living two miles west of here had
murdered his wife and then sui-
cided. Further particulars next
week.
Walt Simes of this city Sun-
dayed with his cousin Pent Shir-
ley at Beaver Dam. Walt is of our
rising young men and we are
pleased to note his progress.*

tiful shade of green. The spirit of

Tee Pine Grove Dramatic asso-
ciation will produce the thrilling
and romantic drama of “Ten
Nights in a Barroom” in Perkins’
hall next Friday evening. The
play is full of spirit and contains
many a lesson for man and beast.
By special arrangement real snow
will be used in the street scene
which will be a novelty never be-
fore J presented on the Boneville
stage. Come one come all.
Jasper Marsh says that the snow
is now four feet on the level. This
looks like winter.
Mrs. Betsy Morrow will please
accept our heartfelt thanks for a
nice mess of pigs’ feet which she
sent to our house last evening.
Mrs. Morrow is one of our most
popular lady readers whose many
noble qualities and generous im-
pulses it is a pleasure to recognize.
The pigs’ feet were nicely pickled
in vinegar made from apples gath-
ered on Mrs. Morrow’s own farm.
Our youngest son was agreeably
surprised ou Christmas morning to
receive the gift of a fine new straw
hat from Mrs. Perry Webster the
lady whqonly last Fourth of July
gave him a handsome pair of
skates which he traded for an air
gun. Truly Mrs. Webster’s chari-
ty knows no bounds.
Old Mrs. Potter the destitute
and suffering woman who lives on
the Creek road was visited last
Saturday by a relief committee of
ladies who found her without fire
fuel or food. They gave her abun-
dant consolation a new feather
pillow and a copy of “Fox’s Mar-
tyrs” but slightly used. Let the
good work go on !
We Saturdayed in Clogvill last
week. Our wife accompanied us.

It can no longer be pretended
that “Italian opera” of the style
familiar to our grandmothers will
prove profitable in New York. You
may listen to “Bel Raggio” or
“Dolce Pensiero” on the hand or-
gan and sigh for the “good old
days” of tuneful melodies but they
will never come back to any mod-
ern opera house at least on this
side of the Atlantic.
