The Boerne Young Life annual
fundraiser Oct. 23 drew the larg-
est crowd in the group’s 15-year
history, but meetings are planned
to attract committee members and
leaders.
An estimated 400 people, in
addition to Young Life members,
attended the banquet at The Resort
at Tapatio Springs where the orga-
nization hoped to raise funds to
cover its $180,000 annual budget.
“This was our largest turnout
since Young Life has been here,”
said Danny Williams, area director
of Young Life. “We drew the type
of crowd we had been hoping for,
but I was still surprised.

what we hoped for. That is for
people to find out about Young

organized in 1941 in Gainesville
and has been in Boerne since
1995.
“It’s about reaching out to stu-
dents and telling them about Jesus
... introducing them to Christ,” he
said. “We have adult leaders who
serve as mentors to the students.”
A Committee Interest Night is
set for Nov. 3 from 7 to 8:30
p.m. at the home of Russell and
Stacey Noll, 117 Second Street in
Boerne.
