Auxier launches bid for Sheriff
Al Auxier, a 22-year resident of
Kendall County, has announced
his candidacy for Kendall County
Sheriff. Auxier was a Department
of Public Safety Highway Patrol
Trooper, retiring after 24-plus
years as a Senior Trooper. He
and his wife Stacey have been
married 20 years.
After transferring from Angle-
ton, Kendall County became his
home on March 1,1990. His relo-
cation to the Texas Hill Country
was a long desired dream.
Auxier earned his Master Peace
Officer Certificate, was instru-
mental in creating the Texas
DPS Crash Reconstruction Pro-
gram and is a graduate of the
Texas Police Chiefs Association
Foundation.
He has had many DPS special
assignments and participated on
many Task Forces throughout
Texas, managed the County’s
DPS annual budget, assisted the
Sheriff's Office Citizen’s Acad-
emy, participated in the Boerne
and Comfort Shattered Dreams
programs, and helped instruct the
Boerne and Comfort High School
Criminal Justice programs.
Auxier is a board member of
the Kendall County Women’s
Shelter, a graduate of Leadership
Boerne 2007, a member of the
Boerne and Comfort Chambers
of Commerce, Kendall County
Fair Association and 19:10
Church.
Auxier says he believes his faith
strengthens his desire to make a
difference in people’s lives and
provides direction with his fam-
ily and professional career.
DPS Trooper Clint Walker
credits Auxier for helping him
find his career.
“I want to thank you for being
a role model to me as I was
growing up in Boerne... because
of you, I am proud to be a High-
way Patrol Trooper. You are the
reason I wear this uniform. You
took time out to let me ride with
you on my 18th birthday, and
that night confirmed my future
career choice. Thank you. You
will do the community proud as
you have for many years.”
Auxier speaks out on his com-
munity values:
“Community and faith drew
me here 22 years ago. Raised
military, I moved around in my
youth. Our military community
was close, but I wanted some- Al Auxier
where I could belong. We are try, and we are committed to our
blessed to live in the Hill Coun- community.”
Tickets on sale for BCT’s
‘Glass Menagerie’ production
Tennessee Williams’ “The Glass
Menagerie,” the next regular pro-
duction at Boerne Community
Theatre, opens Friday, Nov. 4.
This classic American drama
tells the story of a faded South-
ern belle who dreams of a better
life for her children - a daughter
slightly crippled physically but
tragically crippled in spirit, and
her son, a factory worker who
longs to be a writer.
Jeffrey Brown directs a cast
including Christine Crowley
as Amanda Wingfield, Allen
Rudolph as Tom, Alysia Roach
as Laura and Barry Goettl as Jim,
the gentleman caller.
The cast recently had to turn
to Boerne’s new butcher shop,
Strictly Meats, for space to hold
rehearsals. Because a teen troupe
production was going on at the
theatre, the cast used the restau-
rant space, courtesy of Rudolph,
operations manager of the shop.
The show will run three week-
ends, through Saturday, Nov. 19.
Thursday performances are at
7:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturdays
at 8 p.m.; Sunday matinees at
2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 to $19 and
reservations are available online
at www.boernetheatre.org, or by
calling 830-249-9166.

The Boerne Midnight Riders was founded by Brandon Tindall and

the community,” club President Richard Caldwell said.

MIKE SCHULTZ
Mayor of Boerne
"BISD has always played a large role
in the goodwill and fortune of this
community and has always been sensitive
to equity among campuses. I support
and encourage your "yes" vote for the
continued success of our schools and
community."
HELEN SHINN
Retired BISD teacher and recipient
of BISD Lifetime Achievement Award
"I've seen the tremendous progress in
Boerne schools due to excellent planning
and previous bond issues. The 2011 bond
will help continue that progress."

CAROL MATHEWS
Former School Board member for 12 years
"This bond proposal is good for our
district because it allows us to make much
needed improvements and renovations,
build new classrooms, as well as purchase
school buses and technology, all without
raising the tax rate. It is fiscally sound
and now is the time to do it while interest
rates are low."
FRANK RITCHIE
Owner of Ritchie Automotive and
father of Curington & BMSN students
"I have hired three graduates from the
Boerne Career & Technology auto-tech
program who all were well trained and
knowledgeable on vehicle maintenance.
I support the bond & expansion of these
programs to produce better qualified
technicians capable of servicing today's
constantly changing vehicle."
CHRIS GODSEY
Owner Godsey Custom Homes
and mother of three BISD alumni
"I am all for this bond. We could not have -
a more opportune time to tackle the needs
of our facilities. Construction costs are as
low as they will ever be. This bond can
put money in our community during this
economic crunch with the use of local con-
tractors. It is a win, win, especially since
the bond does not raise the tax rate."
CHERYL LANDMAN
Mayor of Fair Oaks Ranch
"From a personal perspective, I applaud
BISD's consistent environment for our
students...today and tomorrow. BISD
continues to work toward balancing all
available resources and this upcoming
bond issue demonstrates such in my
opinion."

CONNIE SHERWOOD
President of Cibolo Creek PTO and
mother of elementary and BMSS children
"The Long Range Planning Committee
did an outstanding job of assessing the
essential needs of our district, and I am
proud to support this bond."
MONTY SMITH
Chairman of Sam's Kids and parent of Fair
Oaks Ranch ES and BMSS students
"This bond is good for all students in BISD,
whether it be your kids, my kids, or Sam's
kids. Let's all help the Boerne ISD survive
the unfair confiscation of our local tax
dollars by the so called "Robinhood" plan.
The bond proposals are a way to maximize
the tax dollar benefit that stays home."
KARL KOCH
BHS Senior
"I am voting yes in the bond election. I
went through Fabra, BMSN, and now
Boerne HS, and my little brother in third
grade is going to do the same. I want him
to have the opportunity to get the best
education he can and the things I am
voting yes for in the bond will give him
that opportunity."
MONICA MARIOTT
Monica is also the parent of Curington
and Boerne HS student
"Technology advances quickly and this
bond allows BISD to meet the changing
needs of today's students. Join mein
supporting all three propositions that
will help upgrade our district to the
21st century."
