Tigers 4-0
The Tigers defeated Whitewright
36-0 in Leonard Saturday, to set up a
firstplace showdown with the Howe
Bulldogs Saturday at 9:00 A.M. in
Whitewright.
The Tigers offense got off to a
slow start in the first quarter with the
only score of the quarter coming on
a Jason Rowland punt return to give
the Tigers a 6-0 lead. In the second
quarter the Tigers began to roll. Casey
Griffis scored on an option play,
then passed to Brian Fuller for the
extra points to make it 14-0. On the
next drive Griffis found Fuller open
deep for the touchdown and Jason
Rowland ran in for the extra points to
give Leonard a 22-0 lead. Heath
Wallace capped off the scoring surge
on a reverse. Griffis passed to Fuller
for the two points and a 30-0 halftime your prayers, visits, cards and flow-
score.
The determined defense stopped
the Whitewright Tigers to open the
second half. Cody Eaton scored to
close out the third quarter by bully-
ing his way into the end zone from
three yards out to cap the days scor-
ing at 36-0.
The awesome defense of Leonard
tended to bend at times but was never
broken by the trick play minded
offense of Whitewright to secure their
fourth shut-out of the season.

Many local parents have been
asking for help in dealing with their
children. In an effort to respond to
this request, a 3-part "parenting
skills" program is being offered to
all parents of students in the Trenton
and Leonard school districts.
The classes, which will be free of
charge, will be led by Linda Ball. Dr.
Ball, a child psychologist, is also a
mother and stepmother. She will be
covering such topics as family com-
munication, discipline methods,
teenage and childhood depression,
and drug and alcohol abuse.
