Tiger JV 22-0 Over Como-Pickton
The junior varisty Tigers contin-
ued their winning ways as they racked
up their fourth straight victory with a
22-0 roll over the Como-Pickton
junior varsity.
Running back Herbert Phillips got
things started with a 12 yard touch-

down run. The extra point try failed,
to leave the young Tigers a 6-0 lead.
Phillips scored the Tigers second
touchdown on a 30 yard run. Fresh-
man running back Trey Trenholm
converted the 2-point conversion to
put the Tigers up 14-0.
Freshman running back Adam
Price scored the Tigers final touch-
down on a six yard run. Freshman
Frank Ball ran in the extra point to
make the final score 22-0.
The junior varsity will meet the
Cooper J V in Cooper Thursday night
at eight o'clock.
Senior Spotlight
Gary Alan Adams
Gary Alan Adams is in tins week's
Senior Spotlight He is seventeen
years old, and his birthday is on
January 10. During his senior year,
he is involved in football, and he is a
student council representative. Gary's
favorite pastimes include playing
football, going up town, and riding
around.
Gary is looking forward to gradu-
ation so that he can get out on his
own. Although he is looking for-
ward to graduation, Gary said that he
will miss all of his friends. Gary's
future plans include going into the
Air Force.
Jeremy Steele, a good friend and
senior classmate, said that the thing
he will miss most about Gary after
graduation is talking about people
during break.
Good luck in the future, Gary!
Spirit Leader of the Week
Kim Buck
Kim Buck, a sixteen year-old
junior, is this week's SpiritLeader of
the Week. This year is Kim’s first
year as a varsity cheerleader. When
Kim was asked what she liked best
about cheerleading, she said, "I like
cheering at the games and watching
Fluffy and Duffy perform at
halftime!"

Tigerette of the Week
Stacie Warren
This week's Tigerette of the Week
is fourteen year-old freshman Stacie
Warren. She received this award for
her superior performance of a ladder
routine to "Lullabye of Broadway."
This is Stacie's first year on the line.
Stacie said that the thing she likes
best about drill team is performing
on Friday nights at halftime.
Tigerette Spirit of the Week
Beth McIntosh
Beth McIntosh, a fifteen year-old
freshman is this week's Tigerette
Spirit of the Week. Beth received
this award because of her enthusi-
asm and outstanding attitude dis-
played throughout the week. This is
Beth's first year on the line. The
thing that Beth likes most about drill
team is cheering for her big brothers:
Scot, Jim, Eddie, and Brett.

Team Prepares
For District
Leonard HIgh School students
competed in the Lake Highlands
Cross Country meet at Norbuck Park
Saturday during the heavy rain.
Five boys and three girls com-
peted with Barbara Kay Johnson, a
senior, capturing a medal. Those
competing were Clint Scribner, Glen
Egemo, Kirk Chambers, Chad Seals,
James Gregory, Patricia Price and
Stacie Warren. The boys ran three
miles and the girls two.
Leonard will compete Wednes-
day at the Bells HIgh School Cross
Country meet and Saturday at Moun-
2-1-1
The eighth grade Tigers captured
another victory Thursday by demol-
ishing the Como-Pickton Eagles 36-
0.
The first touchdown of the game
came when Bryan Kaylor threw a 20
yard pass to David Campbell. The
second touchdown was made by
Brent Nixon, he also made the 2
point conversion.
Kaylor came right back and threw
a 35 yard pass to Campbell for an-
other TD. Andy Price made the two
point conversion. The score stood at
22-0. The Tigers continued to de-
molish the Eagles when Terry Pye
threw a 35 yard pass to Kaylor for
another TD. The Tigers score now
stood at 28-0. The final TD of the
game was made by Nixon on a 55
yard run. Pye scored the 2 point
conversion. The scoreboard read
Tigers 36, Eagles 0. The Tigers were
led defensively by John Lasher.
7th Grade 4-0
The seventh grade Tigers contin-
ued their winning streak by defeat-
ing Como-Pickton 16-0 Thursday
evening.
Cory Chastain scored the first
touchdown on a 40 yard pass from
John Blackerby. Josh Hendricks
sacked the Eagles quarterback in the
end zone for a safety to make the
score 8-0. The final touchdown of
the game was made by Jimmy Wat-
son. Kelly Pemberton scored the 2
point conversion.
The Tigers are now 4-0 for the
season. They will play at Cooper
Thursday. Game time is five o'clock.
Correction
In last week's Graphic the PTL
Carnival date should have read Sat-
urday, October 29th.
Correction
In the seventh grade football ar-
ticle John Blackerby made the only
touchdown against Pottsboro. The
Tigers won 8-0.
After Game
Dance
The United Methodist Youth Fel-
lowship will sponsor an After-Game
Dance Friday, October 14, 10-12,
for grades 7-12 in the Leonard High
School Activity Center. Admission
will be $3 per person. Music will be
provided by "Sound". Proceeds will
go toward the Youth Service Fund,
youth serving youth in need.
