TOWN LOT SALE SOON
AT SPRINGS SITE
Preparations Being Made to
Boom Resort Near This
City.
THE SPOT IS AN IDEAL ONE
Hotel Builder and Promoter
Already After Privileges.
Will Be Good Card.
The new town site at Sutherland
Springs has been surveyed and prepa-
rations are being made for one of the
biggest town lot sales that has been
seen in this state since the days when
new towns were opened up on the
western lines of railroad. The local-
ity is one of the most attractive and
inviting in all Southwest Texas.
Majestic oaks towering pecans and
other trees abundant shade and
the waters of the springs or rather
mineral lakes are of the highest
medicinal quality.
General Passenger Agent Tom J.
Anderson of the Southern Pacific who
was in the city yesterday was en-
thusiastic in his description of the at
tractiveness of the locality and the
advantages it possesses for the mak-
ing of a popular resort.
"When everything is ready for the
sale” he said "we will put on rates
from all over the state for the benefit
of those who wish to come and see
what a beauty spot and what a
health-giving fountain there is at
Sutherland Springs. We will use ev-
ery effort to make a great resort and
with the advantages it has' I do not
see how it is possible to fail.
"There are 1000 acres in the tract
which will be devoted to the purposes
of the resort and out of that there
will be reserved ample parks drive-
ways promenades and cozy corners
while the portion to be put on sale as
town lots will be the most advantage-
ously situated for business purposes
and for residences.
"One of the best known hotel
builders and resort promoters In the
country is negotiating for the man-
agement of the place and it is prob-
able he will be given an opportunity
to take hold and develop the proper-
ty. The resort there will be one of
the new attractions which will draw
tourists and visitors to San Antonio
for there will be good roads and
drives as well as railway facilities to
the resort and its proximity to such
a large city as San Antonio will make
it doubly attractive to those who wish
an occasional taste of life in a big
city."
A great deal of preliminary work
already has been done on the grounds
in anticipation of the location of the
town and the erection of a big hotel.

Charcoal Kills
Bad Breath.
Bad Odor of Indigestion Smoking
Drinking or Eeating Can Be In-
stantly Stopped.
Sample package Mailed Free.
Other people notice your bad breath
where you would not notice it at all.
It is nauseating to other people to
stand before them and while you are
talking give them a whiff or two of
your bad breath. It usually comes
from food fermenting on your stom-
ach. Sometimes you have it in the
morning—that awful sour bilioua
bad breath. You can stop that at once
by swallowing one or two Stuart Char-
coal Lozenges the most powerful gas
and odor absorbers ever prepared.
Sometime® your meals will reveal
themselves in your breath to those
who talk with you. “You’ve had on-
ions" or "You've been eating cab-
bage” and all of a sudden you belch
ia the face of .your friend. Charcoal
is a wonderful absorber of odors as
every one knows. That is why Stuart's
Charcoal Lozenges are so quick to
stop all gases and odors of odorous
foods or gas from indigestion.
Don’t use breath perfumes. They
never conceal the odor and never ab-
sorb the gas that causes the odor. Be-
sides the very fact of using them re-
veals the reason for their use. Stuart's
Charcoal Lozenges in the fire place
stop for good all sour brash and belch-
ing of gas and make your breath
pure ffesh and sweet just after
you’ve eaten. Then no one will turn
his face away from you when you
breathe or talk; your breath will be
pure and fresh and besides your food
will taste so much better to you at
your next meal. Just try it.
Charcoal does other wonderful
things too. It carries away from your
stomach and intestines all the im-
purities there massed together and
which causes the bad breath. Charcoal
is a purifier as well as an absorber.
Charcoal is now by far the best
most easy and mild laxative known.
A whole boxful will do no harm; in
fact the more you take the better.
Stuart’s Charcoal Lozenges are made
of pure willow charcoal and mixed
with just a faint flavor of honey to
make them palatable for you. but not
too sweet. You just chew them like
candy. They are absolutely harmless.
Get a new pure sweet breath
freshen your stomach for yovr next
meal and keep the intestines in good
working order. These two things are
the secret of good health and long
life. You can get all the charcoal ne-
cessary to do these wonderful but
simple things by getting Stuart’s
Charcoal LozengeA We want you to
test those little wonder workers you*-
self before you buy them. So send us
your full name and address for a free
sample of Stuart’s Charcoal Lozenges. ]
Then after you have tried the sample |
and been convinced go to your drug-
gist and get a 25c box of them. You’ll
feel better all over more comforta-
ble and "cleaner” iriside.

WANT 100000 AT FAIR
ON SAN ANTONIO DAY
Attendance Ought to Beat the
Dallas Record of 80-
000.
IT CAN BE DONE NICELY
Secretary Vance and Chair-
Man Sims Draw Lessons
. From State Show.
"Eighty thousand Dallas people
passed through the turnstiles at the
Dallas fair on Dallas said Sec-
retary J. Milton Vance yesterday
when he got back home from his in-
spection of the big show at Dallas
"and that moves me to say that while
we are boasting of being a larger city
than Dallas of doing a bigger busi-
ness and having a larger population
it would be a fine idea if we could
show It to them by the gate receipts
on San Antonio day. We can do it
if our people will turn out but the
trouble is that too many of them
stay at home when they ought to be
out doing something to sustain the
reputation of their city. We should
have fully 100000 raid admissions to
San Antonio and Mexico day at our
fair to show our northern neighbors
what we can do when our people turn
out in earnest.
"In Dallas everybody you meet is
talking Dallas and boosting Dallas
and you cannot go anywhere that you
do not hear the praises of Dallas sung
and incidentally their subscription
lis's show that all of them are con-
tributors to the success of the fair.
I was forced to take a little time for
reflection and consider what might
hapen it the people of San Antonio
would come to the front tn the same
unanimous spirit. I know that fn that
case we would have a fair that could
not be excelled bv many of the al-
leged world expositions. We have ail
the resources we 'nave th* better ex-
hibits and we haze advantages that
our rivals cannot hope to meet."
Secretary Vance was enthusiastic In
his description of what be saw at
Dallas and what lie had engaged to
come to the fair here. He found that
all the principal midway and freak
featurer had already been booked for
here and be found also that everybony
in Dallas while leoking at the at-
tractions offered there was talking
of the show to be given in San An-
tonio next month and laying plans to
be here when the exposition opened.
Chairmen William H. Simms of the
racing committee who went to Dal-
las with Secretary Vance and re-
turned heme at the same time bad
a word to say about the races.
"We You nd about 700 burses in the
racing stalls at Dallas" he said “and
learned that all of them and some
more that were not on the Dallas
card would be at San Anton's. Our
list of entries for the racing establish-
ment has shown an increase of 190
since wo came back from Dallas and
all the rest of the bunch will be here.
"I want to say that I am impressed
with the enthusiasm and loyalty of
the people of Dallas for their fair. Of
course I know that we can beat Dal-
las on population and can turn out
more people than that village can in
an emergency yet I want to see that
sort of thing done like those Dallas
people do it get out and get into the
crowd. San Antonio is bigger better
and can offer better attractions than
[ our rivals. The home people should
[ take an active and personal interest
I i.r it and then others will believe that
i It is worth while to go and see what
Is to be seen.”
With Messrs. Simms and Vance
Sheriff Tobin and F. A. Chapa who
had been enjoying the attractions of
the north Texas big show also re-
turned and both will join in the ef-
fort to arouse greater interest in the
home exposition.
Governor Campbell has signified
his acceptance of the invitation ex-
tended him to open the International
fair and he will be here November
9 for the purpose of starting the
machinery in motion.
The great supply of cases and jars
ordered by Senor Albino R. Nuncio
commissioner from Mexico to the In
-ternational fair for the proper dis-
play of 'Mexican exhibits arrived last
evening and will be transferred to
the fair ground tracks today so that
they can be unloaded early Monday
morning. Bills of lading are at hand
and it is expected that all the con-
signments will be received in a few
days.
Senor Nuncio is to become the
guest of the International club and to
make his home In the quarters of that
organization while he is here looking
after the interests of his country. A
committee composed of the directors
of the club will assemble 'this morn-
ing and proceed to the hotel of Senor
Nuncio whence he will be escorted
to the rooms of the International ciub
where a breakfast will be given and
the Mexican commissioner Will then
take up his quarters' In apartments
provided for him in the club’s quar-
ters where he will make his head-
quarters while he is in the citv look-
ing after the Mexican exhibit
