WICHITA' BAILY TIMES -
The fire loss in Wichita Falls for
the firet coven months not 1036 aver-
aged less than 11 per capita, as com-
pared with an average loss of 02.84
for 1925, it was announced from
the fire chief’s office Saturday.
During July the department made
17 runs, laid 5,800 feet of hose and
used 86 gallons Of chemicals. 1 Total
value of property endangered was
$15,700; insurance $10,150; fire loss
only $6,525. During the entire seven
months the figures are: alarms 168;
value of property $509,400; insur-
ance $335,750; loss $54,189; average
loss per run $8.83; average loss per
capita, lees than $1.
The city fire inspector and the
chief have made 2,210 inspections
since January 1, and found 826 fire
hazards, all of which have been core
rected. The general condition of
business dietriot le considered bet-
ter than it has been la several

Dr. C. W. Castner, superintendent
of the Wichita Falla State Hospital,
returned here Saturday, morning
with the last trainload of patients
from the asylum for the senile In-
sane at Austin, some 400 patients
having been moved hero during the
past week.
"We had no trouble In the world,"
Dr. Castner said. “We left Austin
at 7 o'clock in the evening, making
a night run, no that it wae very
cool, and making the trip in about
it hours."
Three trains brought the patients
from Austin, the fleet arriving here
Tuesday morning. Dr. Castner re-
mained in Austin until Friday eight
to supervise the transfer.
