16 GENERAL AND SPECIAL LAWS.
and recognizances taken in either of said Courts (and all orders,
decrees and judgments entered in either of said Courts)
shall be as valid as though no change had been made in said
District Court, and all Grand and Petit Jurors drawn or
selected under existing laws in either of said Courts for a
term of Court that may be in session when this Act takes effect
or for any term that may be held after this Act takes effect
shall be considered lawfully drawn and selected in accordance
with this Act.
SEC. 11. All laws and parts of laws not in conflict with
this Act shall remain in force and effect.
SEC. 12. This Act shall not prevent the holding under present
laws of any term of Court that may be in session when this
Act takes effect, and said term of Court shall be held under
the law existing at the beginning of said term.
SEC. 13. The crowded condition of the dockets of the District
Courts of Travis County and the importance of facilitating
prompt and speedy trials of the litigation pending therein,
and especially of suits filed therein by the State of Texas, create
an emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
Constitutional Rule requiring bills to be read on three several
days in each House be suspended, and said Rule is hereby suspended,
and this Act shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage, and it is so enacted.

AMENDING LAW RELATING TO CITY, TOWN AND
VILLAGE DEPOSITORIES.
H. B. No. 68.] CHAPTER 9.
An Act amending Articles 2559 and 2560 Revised Civil Statutes of the
State of Texas for 1925, providing the way and manner in which
cities, towns, and villages shall take bids for depositories of funds of
such cities, towns, and villages and providing for the way and manner
in which said funds shall be secured, and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That Article 2559 Revised Statutes of 1925 of
the State of Texas be amended so as to hereafter read as follows:
Art. 2559. Council to take bids for depository-The governing
body of every city, town, and village in the State of Texas
incorporated under either General or Special Laws, including
those operating under special charter or amendments of charter
adopted pursuant to the "Home Rule" provisions of the
