home of Mr. and Mri. H. C. Bell,

Officers Elected
The 8ociety of Chrtatian Slaters
of the Caldwell Moravian Breth-
ren Church met Tueaday at 2 p. m.
in the church to elect officers tor
the coming year. New officers are,
preaident, Mra. Joe Holubec; vice-
preaident, Mra. Pete Sefcik; sec-
retary. Mra. Joe Sebes ta; treas-
urer, Mra. W. J. Sebea ta; and pub-
licity, Mrs. H. E. Beseda.
Words of appreciation and a
standing vote of thanks were ex-
tended Mra. John J. Krenek, re-
tiring treasurer, who haa aerved
the society faithfully for oner a
quarter of a century. Mrs. C. .1.
Jancik, retiring secretary, was al-
so accorded a vote of thanks for
a shorter period of faithful ser-
vice.
Relatives here have been advised
th t William A Hoyack, who is
with the 28th Infantry Division
now atationed in Augsburg, Ger-
many, haa been promoted to Cor

25th Wedding
Anniversary
On Sunday, January 30, a group
of relativea and frienda gathered
at the home of Mr. and Mra.
Frank Navratil to help them cele-
brate their 26th Wedding Anni-
veraary. Thia waa complete sur-
prise to the honoreea. Following
a period of conversation during
which numerous best wishes were
expressed for many more years
of happy married life for the
couplé, fruit cake, sandwiches,
cakes, koiaches and coffee were
served to ubout forty-five guests,

A surprise birthday party waa
given at the home of Betty Orsak,
on the evening of January l*t,
honoring LaUna Dean on hei lbth
birthday.
After LaUna had opened h>r
gifts anrl expressed her thanks,
the group joined in playing garme.
Prixes were awarded to Hubert
Hoyack and Beverly Zalinanek and
also to Barbara Davis and Clar-
ence Luedke.
Delicious refreshments consist-
ing of sandwiches, potato chips
olives, candy, cake and soda water,
was aerved to about eighteen
guests. Everyone had an enjoyable

Snook Farmers Hear
Dr. Joe Campbell
The 8nook Farm and Ranch As
sociation held Its regular meeting
on December 12, 1951, at the Snook
High School Gymnasium. Dr. Joe
Campbell from the Agricultural
Economics Department at College
Station gave an interesting tall
on Income tax.
Mr. Fuchs and Mr. Schroeda
from Brenham told how the Farm
Bureau helped the farmer.
The next meeting will be on the
night of January 17th. Dr. Thorn-
ton from the Soil testing lab at
College Station will deliver a talk
on fertilizer.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth A. Volker
of Elgin are happy over ti.e ar-
rival of a baby son, William Ken-
neth, born January 8 in the hospi-
tal at Elgin. The young man tip-
ped the scales at ten pounds and
ten ounces, ttielia Kay, age two
is very proud of her baby broth-

and Mrs. J. B. Honeycutt, both
of whom ara seriously ill with
pneumonia. The Honeycutts for
merly lived in Caldwell' Theyalso
resided in Temple for many years
before going to Waco to live.

Prenham visited in the home of
Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Baxter last
Friday.
