Texas Sets Pattern
For Low-cost Housing
SAN ANGELO— A low- cost
housing project recently complot
ed here may become a pattern for
like projects all over the nation
The local project, for families >1
low income, established a record
low cost of $3,000 per family unit,
something unheard-of elsewhere.
Normal costs on such job ar
$8,000 or more per unit. Senator
Lyndon Johnson visited the local
project last week and praised it
highly. He is suggesting to Fed
«ral Housing Administration offi-
cials that they copy the ideas de-
veloped here for use elsewhere in
t he nation.
