I cured myself of Dyspepsia with them, at 63
years of age, after all other medical treatment
had faHed. After trying many combinations of
medicine, I had the good fortune to make the
valuable discovery, which I nwv offer to the
public. The ngredients composing these Pills
are all of Vegetable and Southern origin. They
act very gently producing no sickness or disa-
greeable sensatr'oA, and they will not prevent the
patient from eating jr drinking anything de-
sired. Each box of ,rrDa wilT have a printed pre-
scription wrapper, describing Hie symptoms, cau-

the forerunner of all diseases, a purgative dose of
these pills, two or three taken at ted time, will
' prevent all the common diseases of the country.

FROM its eommencement, this Journal ha
been conservative in principle, national i
character, and single in its great object of ele-

Manufacturing and the Medíame Arts.
Regarding Agriculture aa the corner stone af
national prosperity, we have sought to advance
its interest, by an earnest advocacy of the far
men' rights, by encouraging a just self-culture
as the true means of elevating his position, aud
by diffusing the best information for the manage-
ment of the farm, the garden, the stock, the
dairy, and whatever pertaius to rural economy
and thrift.
But deeming Agriculture flourishes best, and
reaps its richest rjBwa:«i% in close proximity with
the Mcchamc Arl«, ws have d:voted to these a
portion of our space, condensing information of
great value to the ?ii;cTianic> and of nearly
equal value to the f¡fnírerv because more or less
directly connected with his employment.' Our
motto is Onward, ho1 only in farming, but' with
whatever gives the farmer a quick return and a
fair price for his produce; and this the cultiva-
tion of the Mechanic Arts will most certainly
accomplish.
•W ith these principles a: ways paramount, we
have ever maintained a high moral position,
avoiding everything offensive to good taste, as
also everythingsectarian, or bearing upon party
politice, or sectional feelings or interests, thus
making our work a fit family visitor for all parts
of the country, snd securing for it a selecter and
wider patronage than often happens to journals
of the kind.

States of Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois,
Missouri, Atkanéaa, A lab*ma, Georgia, South
