In the capital, a young fellow
named Emelio Calderón, stepped
outside a cafe when he was assault-

tendered or allowed him by the po-

Antonio, being aided by others, as
fvell as the woman, succeeded iu
killing his adversary.
At Bareyeca, Sonora, 600 Ya-
quis attacked the garrison of 140
men, who at last accounts Vere
fortified in the church and sur-
rounding houses, and kept the
enemy at a distance. The Indians
attacked and burned the town of
Maciaca. The people of the state
are arming for their own defense,
Tliis view, so strenuously urged by
the newspapers which are appre-
hensive of mugwump arrogance and
dictation, is our view exactly, and
we have oo fear that the adminis-
tration will bo overawed by any-
