London, ju|y 1G-The Pall
. lall Gazette lias issued, in a
single edition, a completo
publication of the full text of
its revelations. The edition
is having an enormous sale,
and the proceeds are to be de-
voleJ towards defraying the
expenses of the commission
whieh is examining the data
upon whieh the Gazette ar-
tides are hnsed. The com-
mission yesterday afternoon
«pent three hours at the Man-
sion house examining under
oath before the lord mayor
and the city recorder members
of the Pall Mall Gazette's re
^ortoiial commission. The
ord mayor presided over the
examination. Neither he nor
any of the dignitaries present
will converse with members
of the press about what trans
>ired any further than to say
the examination was confined
;o the work of sifting theevid-
once,gathered by the reporters,
in support of the Gazette's
assert ion that among the crim-
nal establishments purveying
to vice in London was the pro-
curation firm of Mesdames
X & Z, whose business consist-
ed in supplying customers all
over Europe with young fem-
ale children, ^11 certified by res-
ectable doctors to be innocent.
The personages engaged iu
his inquity say they will not
speak upon the subject for
mblication until the com
mission of inquiry finishes its
work, whieh will require an-
other sitting.
One of the commissioners
of the Gazette reports to that
paper to-day the following
facts, the truth of which he
declares to be incontestable.
In order to show the Mansion
house committee that the
diabolical business exposed by
the Gazette was still carried
on as badly as ever, notwith
standing the revelations, the
reporter offered to procure
from the establishment of X
and Z as many certified girls
as the committee might
name, delivered any where to
their order. There being some
hesitation about the acccp
t mee of this proposition, the
reporter, while the com
mittce was still in session,
went to the procuress and or
dered a pretty girl, 14 years of
ago, certified by a physician
to be good, to be delivered to
his order as agent for a gentle
man of 16. The madameaccept
ed the order, and in a short
time she produced the girl,
properly certified. The re
porter investigated the child's
history and ascertained tha
her father was dead and that
her mother wad a poor work
ing woman. Having complct
ed the purchase of the girl
the reporter hastened to ar
range for delievery anywhere
to any person designated by
the committee. No member o
the committee would consent
to receive the girl. The repor
ter thereupon arranged for her
delivery to-night and hurried
to the Mansion house, hiving
completed the entire trausac-
ion during a single sitting of
;he committee. This morning
ho reporter received a con-
idential letter from Madame
Z., appointing a retired place
to meet the girl to-night.
London, July 16.—Mrs

tfarquis of Salisbury and Mr.
Gladstone, in approval of the
work to rescue young girls
roiu the perils of iniquity ex*
>09cd in the Pall Mall Gazette.
She says she will road the let*
ters at the women's meeting in
Sxeter hall this afternoon.
Mrs. Booth says she has also
a letter from the queen, writ*
teu three weeks ago, and in
which her majesty expresses
sympathy with tho work of
;he Salvation aruiy in protect-
ing young girls. This letter
will also be read at the meet-
ing today.

mously adopted petitioning

at Dodge City, Kansas, inves-
tigating the difficulties be
tween the Southern Texas
drovers and northern ranch-
men, telegraphs that notwith-
standing Inspector Armstrong's
report there will likely bo
further trouble, and probably
bloodshed, if an attempt is
made to drive Southern Texas
