Statistics prove that over one quarter of

"I was attacked by a severe pa?n in the

intensely through the whole winter. During
all the time I was confined to my house, had
a violent cough, raised much bloody matter,
and was supposed by myself and others to be
in the last stages of Consumption. The Feb-
ruary following, when apparently my life
was at a close, 1 procured a bottle of Park's
Balsam of Wild Cherry and Tar. As soon
as Í commenced its use, I be^an to grow bet-

cough gradually left me, the profuse expec
toration and spitting of blood ceased, and
my general health became by degrees restor-
ed, I was soon enabled to resume my trade,
that of a carpenter, which I have continued
without interruption. I wi|l further remark
that this remarkable cure was effected by on-
ly three bottles of the Balsam.

Messrs. Barnes ¿-Park—Gents : I feel it a
duty I owe to humanity, to say to yoa that
I have used, individually, and in my family,
Dr. Guysott's Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla,
and from the use of it I find that it fully
answers all purposes for which it is intended.
Lately 1 have been brought very near the
grave from a diseased liver, and from the use
of this invaluable medicine I have been most
signally relieved. An eminent physician the
other day remarked in my presence, that he
considered this medicine as the very best of
all the modern combinations. If this hum-

you, you are as liberty to use it int any way
you may think proper. Respectfully yours,

Dr. C. M. Jackson—Dear Sir: Y*" ! stifRent-
ed to me before leavinsr Philadítfpbia. ••
take a few bottles of your bitters tfloijr. as
a preventive against yellow Javer, witíali if
now raging here and in New Orleans. I did
so, and used it freely on my route home. I
was accompanied by several Texians, WÜ
also took it as prescribed, none of nshsvioff
had the fever except myself. All paaaoa
through New Orleans without being attacked
by the epidemic, and some of them whom 1"
have since met, attribute their escape re •
great measuse to the use of your exeellsnt
specific. From what I have heard from oth-
er sources, and my own experience, I hav«
no hesitation in saying 1 believe Cooflanu's
German Bitteis. an excellent article for the
prevention of Xellow fever and many other
diseases peauKai* to the South, if talma in
time and as directed. Yours trulv.

Dr. C. M. Jaalson, Dear Sir ; I cailad trim
this port in August last, in tbe barque JUu*
deer, of which I am master, with a erew af
ten men, bound to Havana. As I knew tV*
yellow fever was raving with great virulence
in that city, and had heard of the good ef-
fects of the Bitters in preventing theattaaka
of that terrible disease, I provided mysaif
with a supply of it. Before reaching my
port, I commenced the administration of the
Bitters regularly to all on board. On reaeh>
ing Havana, I found a number of vessels ia
the haybor, among the crews of which tha
Fever was committing great ravages; on
board of three of them not a son! was left
alive—the fever had carried «11 off. Xatv
rally great alarm prevailed, t am mqH'
happy to say that with the excepsion of oaa
of my crew, who deserted in Havana, we.
have all comE back safe and sound—not ana
of us having been attacked. I believe Hol-
land's German Bitters to be an exeeflant
medicine, and am satisfied of ha salutary
effects as a preventiva of yellow /ever, aa it
is a very unusual thing for a vessel with so
many persons on board to visit tbe island et
Cuba in August or September, and retura
withont tbe loss of at least a portion et her

Dr, Jackson, Dear Sir: After my rttnfl
from Meyico, I was seriously afflicted with
that terrible disease, which has carried ta
the grave so many of my fellow soldier*,
chronic diarrhoea, accompanied with Nearal-
gia, brought on by tbe eliraate of lfexiao,an«l
the mode of living while engaged in tha
war. The relief 1 have obtained from the
use of Hoofland's German Bitters ia astosUi-
ing; and I most eheerfally have, and still earn-
tinue to recommend the Bitters to all wko
are similarly affected, believing that the baa*
efit that will result from their me will ha
incalculable. Verv respectfully
