4 BARKER'S CELEBRATED DOUBLE
A. ACTING FORCE ANTD LIFT PUMPS. Just
the Pump for Texas. Adspted to -wells of any depth.
We the undersigned, having formed a copartner-
ship, and purchased the light of " A. Barker's cele-
brated Pump," for Texas, are prepared to furnish
them on reasonable terms to parties wishing the most
simple and durable Pump now in use throughout the
whole Union. The construction of this Pump is so
simplo, they can be easily repaired by any one who
can turn a screw or cut a pioce of leather to a given
shape. There are but two valves in it, both motalic,
which renders them less liablo to get out, of order
than any other Pump over brought before the public.
Thoy can be used for Fire or Garden Engines;
also worked by any power sufficient to force water
through lead pipe or hose to the distance of ONE
MILE, if required.
Any person having use for a pump, will save time
and labor sufficient in six months, by using this
Pump, to pay for the same. In fact, they are every-
thing a Pump can be. In evidence of which, we
refor the public to the annexed certificates.
This Pump can be seen at thc Tin Establishment
of J. G. Vial & Co.
§^p"Orilors addressed to tho undersigned will re-
ceive prompt attention. YFAL & ROGERS.

Acting Forcing Pumps, now in use at the American
Exchange, I will merely say that I am acquainted
with the arrangements and working of most if not
all the hand pumps iwvt in use, and have not the
least hesitation in saving, I consider the one you
now offer to the nuUio thc best.

Mr. T. S. Roger-'—Sir: Having witnessed the
working of one of Mr. A. Barker's Patent Double
Acting Forcing Pumps, in a well at the American
Exchange, I take pleasure in recommending it. as
being one of the best and most efficient I have ever
seen in operation. DR. J. H. LYONS.
Januar3r 4, 1854.
Thomas S. Rogers—Sr : Having had one of Mr.
A. Barker's Patent Punns in use for a short time, it
affords mc pleasure to assure you of m$- entire satis-
faction with its operatiot I consider it superior to
any Pump I am acquainted with for ordinary house-
hold purposes, and espedally superior as a Forcing
Pump. It works easy, nd does not appear to get
out of order. I can reconmend it to those wishing
to purchase. D. C. VANDERLIP.
We most cheerfully coeur in the above recom-
mendation. L. L. MARSHALL,
