Fraud.—We have heard it rumor-
ed that there are souwjjersoas not a
thousand miles from íere who hare
given mortgages en their crops to
merchants for supplies, and after-
ward® sold the crop without satísíy-T
ing the mortgage. If any have, in
fact, done this, or have any intention
of doing so, we would advise them to
be wary, lest they get into trouble,
such conduot is not oiily dishonest,
but cflmlñáMn the eyes of the law,
and lays the party liabie to serve a
term in the penetentiary.
