some one whisper Brazos bridge, we'll
listón closely and if we hear it again,
we sbaB feel encouraged enough to
talk still louder hereafter. Don't let's
have any public meetings about it—
onr opinion is that they will kill off
anything. We want private meet-
ings, not with closed doors, but a fair
discission among the people.
.Goncrbt.—Some of the citizens,
including tho ladies of course, are
making preparations for a magnificent
Concert about the first of May. The
object ia loyal and laudable, and wor-
thy the patronage of all. The ener-
gy, taste and akill of those engaged
in it are sufficient guarantees lhat it
will be a success. We like to see
such thing encouraged—this is no
humbug to get your momy for a fleet-
ing show for which you will be no
better off on the morrow; its benefits
are permanent and to the interest of
aU.
