CAUTION !—Persona ruptured should be aware
that thev have no security against Strangulated
Hernia with all its horrors, but iu a well adapted
Truss.
SHERMAN'S
New Patent íilUSS, and Rupture Remedy,
WILL EFFECT A SPEEDY CURE.'
ily this Truss tjhp tollo wing objpetions so promi-
nent in almost etcry other in use are obviated —
strong spring, with its cf nsoquent severity, injurious
pressure, and inability to cure. And the following
ad vantages gained: gentle pressure, complete reten-
tion, perlcct ease, and a permanent cure.
iCT This Truss is entirely different from all others
ir. form and principle of action, consequanily, effect
— possessing all the advantages, while it is free from
tiie objections attributed lo the various kinds hereto-
fore in use. The pressure ismoie natural, being
comparatively light in bad Ruptures; can be regula-
ted and brought to bear directly ovei the hernial open-
in o-s, thereby, affording security at all times, even
under the -most violent exércise. By its use, when
fitted by the proprietor, or a skillful surgeon, the
wearer is placed beyond the danger of Strangulation
or any other painful or dangerous symptoms, which
is not (infrequent to the use of other Trusses. It is
a very common practice for persons afflicted with
Hernia, to select a Truss and apply it to themselves.
It is a bad and dangerous practice, which cannot be
seen only by those who understand Anatomy, and
are familiar with the nature of Ruptures.
This Truss has received the recommendation of
the following eminent members of the New Orleans
Medical Faculty:—Dr. Stone, llgster, Cartwright,
Cenas, Bein, Moss, and others.

This is to certify, that we are usin Sherman's New
Patent Truss, and Ruptu e Wash, with a great deal

other we have ever used, and our ruptures are di-
minishing beyond our expectations fully assuring us
that a cure will be the result.

Dear Sir—I take this opportunity of expressing
to you my sincere thanks, |nd tendering to you my,
grateful acknowledgments' for the g&at benefit T
have received from your trnatment, of the im> can-
cers on m- St hand, which lam htppy to stateip
quite well, and they have the appearance of being
thoroughly eradicated, and I ara truly thankful that
the torment, under which I have so long labored, has
ceased. My pen is Inadequate to express the degree
of suffering I had experienced, for the last two par-
ticularly, of tin long thirty years that I háye been,
thus afflicted, as all who know me can testify. Last
year Dr. Gilbe rt operated on me for some six month*,
ami pronounced me cured (after giving me a slight
foretaste of Purgatory), and joyful was I at this de-
cision, so desirous was I to get rid of those twin can-
cers, the well known and hated curse of my exist-
ence, pain and trouble for to long; a period. But
judge of my disappointment, when last spring they
returned in a much worse form than tbey were be-
fore Dr. Gilbert treated and pronounced diem cured,
so then I applied to you, but believe me with little
hope of relief at your hands-fafter Dr. Gilbert, in
whom I had placed so much confidence, had failed to
effect a cure), but you told me that you could cure
my liarfd and that speedily, and also that you would'
warranted a cure, and to afl appearance you ha ««ful-
filled your promisej and I am satisfied that you know
what your medicine can perform, as welt as your pa-
tients feel its efficacy ; "and I, for one, appreciate
your great candor, perseverence and watchfulness,
and especially yonr tact in inspiring a patient with
confidence,, for, had it not been for this, I should'
have submitted to the amputation of my hand. But,
thanks to kind Provide nee, and to you, for your vain-
able services, that the misfbrtiine is averted--thy
hand is cured.
Very resp'y vour obliged and ebed't serv't,
