President Eisenhower has ve-
toed the postal pay bill, which
provided increases averaging 8.8
per cent for 500,000 workers. He
said the measure was too expen-
sive and discriminated against
certain groups of posta! employes.
This was the first presidential

Power out to Pop Young's Satur-
day moming. Everyone was hap-
py to see Billie Joe again.

Rev. L. B. Russell of Rusk, spent
Sunday and Monday nights with
Pop Young. The Russells and
Youngs were very near neighbors
for a number of years in Lone
Oak community.

other when KMshaw went to
Canada. Ea^h married another
in the meantime. Last Christmas
Ki!shaw received a card from a
friend with Polly's address on it.
The plane carrying the card
crashed and KMshaw almost
didn't get it, but it finally
arrived, water-stained and bat-
tered. Kilshaw went to Palo Alto,
where PoHy now a widow, was
living and the romance was on
again. Both are now 68.
