It is postmarked Fort Worth, Texas August 8, 1917. The date August 15, 1917 is also stamped on the front. The right edge of the envelope has been torn.

They reflect the experiences of women, professional men, military men, Texas cattlemen, businessmen, farmers, and government officials, from different parts of the country, with different political views and experiences. The project was generously funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission.
