The Dallas News' Washington cor-
respondent has the following in ref-
erence to public buildings:
The house commission on public

Mr. Sheppard, who belongs to the
committee, says the success of the
bill depends largely on the attitude of
the senate, He thinks if the senate
adds much to it, it will be sure to
fall, lie says further that the bill
haB been cut to meet crying necessi-
ties and it is doubtful if ie bill will
become a law at this session anyway.
In my opinion, it has a very poor
show. Mr. Sheppard made a speech
in the house, today ia which he com-
pared the enormous figures embraced
in tha naval appropilation bill with
those in the bill making appropria-
tions for public buildings and grounds
He showed that there was enough
money appropriated in the naval bill
to erect a public building in every
town of over 25,000 people in the
United States.

Telephone Officials
Are to Consult Here.
Maasrs Harvey Wires of Kentucky
and F. C. Smith of San Antonia, own-
ers of the Cersicana Telephone Com-
pany, will arrive here tomorrow
morning to investigate the matter of
rebuilding their exchange here.
The word "rebuild" is not too
strong in this case, since the cables
and switch-board were destroyed and
the replaciag of these will mean
practically rebuilding the plant.
Manager Johnson thinks $10,000
will be necessary to do this work.
About 400 of these phones are
now in working order, but the re-
mainder can not be replaced until a
new switch-board is installed. The
officials will sound the aldermen on
the probability of allowing the com-
pany to increase its rates and it may
be that this matter will determine
whether or not the exchange will be
rebuilt.

WONDERFUL CURE*
OF SORE HANDS
By Cutleura After the

EIGHT DOCTORS

of Qood
"I was troubled with sore hands, so
■ore that when I would put them in
water the pain would nearly set me
crazy, the skin woulil peel off and the
flesh would get bard and break. There
would be blood flowing from at least
fifty places on each hand. Words could
never tell the suffering I endured for
three years. I tried everything, but
could get no relief. 1 tried at least
eight different doctors, but none did
ine any good, a9 my hands were as bad
when I got through doctoring as when
I began. 1 also tried many remedies,
but none of them ever did me one
cent's worth of good. I was discour-
aged and heart-sore. I would feel so
bad mornings, to think I had to go to
work and stand the pain for ten hours,
I often felt like giving up my position.
Before I stfrted to work I would
have to wrap every finger up sep-
arately, so as to try ana keep thein
soft, and then wear gloves over the
rags to keep the grease from getting
on my work. At night I would have
to wear gloves; in fact, I had to wear
glove® all the time. But thanks to
Cuticura, that is all over now.
