in our community. Flu and other
viruses, including the eomxnon
cold which if neglected will turn
into the flu as your correspon-
dent found out it can be a bad
thing. After a person is already
run down - fium a 2 or-a-week
cold, my advice now is: at the
first sign of a cold get busy. If

call your doctor.
Others known to be ill in the
community at this time are Dav-
id Latta. We hear he is quite ill.
Also Bruce Denson, Holt Bishop,
Mrs. Frank Moore and probably
others. We aren't doing much
calling since w is difficult to
talk but we hope everyone will
soon be well again.
Frank Knox/ Moore who at-
tended W.TAC. at Canyon last
semester has transferredtoSul
College at Alpine and has
begun classes there. Frank Knox
was awarded a football scholar-
ship at Sul Ross and will begin
Spring training this month.
Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Denson and
Bruce visited relatives in Ama-
rillo Sunday.
Mrs. Pat Brown is at home

We are happy to report that
Mr. Buster York's family is im-
proving nicely from burns re-
ceived last Sunday .evening
when a butane leak filled their
home and exploded. Curtains
and mattress were burned and
several windows blown out Mrs.
York and five daughters were
burned about the legs and
hands. All except Debbie, who
was the most seriously burned,
were treated at the Post hospital
and released. Debbie, howevei,
was retained in the hospital from
Sunday to Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Smith and
Mr. and Mrs. Don Childress and
baby -went to Fort Worth last
Friday to the Fat Stock Show.
Rev. and Mrs. Shelby Bishop
were Sunday dinner guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Parsons, Fre-
da and David.
Miss Barbara Parsons visited
Sunday with Miss Helen Harris.

A Stanley Party given Thurs-
day in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Glenn Havens was well attended.
Despite the sandstorm several
ladies of the community and
the Stanley demonstrator, Mrs.
Fry of Post, were present.
We were sorry to have Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Robinett leave our com-
munity. They are making their
home in Moody.

ble were Lubbock visitors Mon-
