THE ISSUL
The Board of Nurse Examiners adopts rules establishing
minimum standards for programs to prepare nurses for addi-
tional roles. The rules also accredit programs which meet
these standards The primary purpose of this adoption is to
protect consumers from incompetent practitioners
The 65th Legislature made supervision mandatory for all
prisoners who are released by the Texas Department of Cor-
rections but who are not on parole The Board of Pardons and
Paroles adopts rules concerning the conditions of mandatory
supervision
The Employees Retirement System of Texas permanently
adopts a rule redefining the basic group insurance plan and
permitting participation in health maintenance organizations
This rule was previously adopted on an emergency basis The
Employees Retirement System of Texas provides benefits to
over 105,000 state employees and ex-employees. in addition
to spouses and dependents
The Texas Youth Council adopts an emergency rule amending
procedures for removing delinquent youths from halfway
houses for placement in institutions.
