YOU BE THE
JUDGE
By J. Mi RANKIN
HARD WEEK
Since the last report in this
column there have been court
cases: Jack O'Brien of Snyder
charged with DWI asked contin-
uance of his case because he is
hospitalized in Oklahoma; two
Ralls men were found guilty of
drunk driving and assessed fif-
ty dollar fines, and one is doing
ten days "in jail; a Floyciada
man paid $75 and costs, and a
Lorenzo man fifty: Two juvenile
delinquents were committed to
their parents with severe re-
strictions for One year and up-
wards. All stolen property was
restored. Hard week.
PLENTY BUSINESS " „
, Likewise Monday was Com-
missioners' Court day. Plenty of
business. Bills to pay and some
to lay aside- for further study.
But we can't kill one by commit-
ting it to an unfavorable com-
mittee as the legislature can.
Just put it off. Court Relieved Dr.
Haney of the burden of County
Physician he has borhe under
sufferance for years, and Dr.
Rhoades was appointed to the
position. It's one of those jobs
where it a man isn't satisfied
with the pay, we'll double it.
Twice nothing is still nothing.
Some business about buyftig
some road machinery. The Judge
along with . Commissioner Keith
instructed to do something about
housing for Justice Byerley's
Court. Fire, you know.
NOT SO HARD
Near noon something delight-
ful happened. Mrs. Hillin noti-
fied the Court it was to be her
and Sheriff Hillin's guest for
luncheon at the County Jail. It
seems a proud young gobbler
had become a nuisance out - at
the Hillin farm, and he was fit-
ted into a hjlige kettle and with
appropriate cererrjonies and fix-

unless It was hunger. Never saw
a better remedy, though. If Mrs.

County will never collect ano-
