TURKEYS!! TURKEYS!!
This year we expect to see a good market for Thanksgiving turkeys. In order to get
them to the Eastern consumer it will be ne essary to stari them eariler than usual, as
it takes practically twice as long to get fre ght car to the Eastern markets now as it
did under normal conditions; the strike is not settled by any means. You should pick
out your large birds, gobblers weighing 12 pounds and over; hens weighing 8 pounds
and over, and bring them for the thanksgivmg market not later than the 15th of Nov-
ember. However, it appears that with the large crop in view that the best prices will be
paid between the 1st and the 10th of November, with probably lower prices starting
al out the 11th.
WE ADVISE EARLY MOVEMENT OF YOl-R LARGE TURKEYS.
Hold the small ones for the Christmas market. Our dressing stations open Oct-
ober 28th, at all points.
Here we wish to call your attention to the advantage of selling your turkeys to our
company: Mr. Foster, our president, has be m in the poultry industry in Southern Ok-
lahoma and Northern Texas continu usly f .r seven years. Our houses are open the
year round to receive your produce. We actunllj operate during some of the summer
months at a considerable cash loss, in oth r words if we would close our houses on
the 1st day of June and open them on the Nt day of November we would have several
thousand dollars more money than we wou'd have to continue them during these dull
months. But we realize the farmers must h ve a market the year round and we lielieve
it is his duty to patronize the industry th f continues buying in his community dur-
ing the entire twelve months c-f the year There are always a large number of small
fly by night dealers who are ready ^o open up on the 1st day of November and stay
during the rush season. Some of these lig Umate and thev are fair dealers, hut there
ure some who believe in "getting theirs" while the gettinsr is good. Better be safe
then sorry; patronize the house you know will treat you right.
We buy turkeys, ducks, geese, guineas, hpns, fryers, roosters, butter, hides, furs
and pecans.
