Former Mineola
Citizen Passes
The sad news reached Mineo-
la last Thursday of the death of
W. H. Pinto, at Rodunda Beach,
California, at the home of his
son- T. J. Pinto.
The older citizens of our lit-
tle city will remember Mr. Pinto
as one of the pioneer citizens
and business men of Mineola in
the early '90 s, he having set-
tled here in 1891. as an employee
of the T. and P. Railway Com-
pany and later entering the res.
taurant business Hp was born ;
in Philadelphia, Pa., June, 9th, ;
1859. and died February 23rd, j
1927, at the age of 67 years, j
8 months and 14 da vs. He
married Miss Hatha Mack, of !
Collin County. Texas, in 1879, •
and to this union was bom only j
one child, a son, Tom J. Pinto,
who was raised in Mineola and
who vvas also closely connected [
with the progressive civic and j
business interests our city,
he at one time being o;:c of our j
City Commissioners.
j Mrs. Pinto died in Mineola, in
i 1939 and it was the request of
| Mr. Pinto that his body be
brought back to Mineola, to rest
until the end of time, by the
side of his deceased wife.
Mr. Pinto left surviving him,
one, son. T. J. Pinto, and three
j grandchildren, living at Rodun-
I da Beach, California.

Rapid fire, whirlwind action
and a beautiful love story of a
woman's faith is "The Escape"
starring Pete Morrison which
is now at the Select Theatre.
Morrison is a perfect type of
man who is admired by men and
women. He is a big, perfectly
proportioned man, who rides
with consummate skill. As an
actor he has few peers. He has
finally gained the recognition
due him and will appear in many
more pictures of this type,we
hope.
As the leading woman, Bar-
bara Starr, Harold Lloyd's sist-
er-in-law, makes an exception^
ally appealing figure. She is
very pretty and a capable act-
ress. No better paid' of leads
could been chosen than these
two.
Frank Norcross is an old tim-
er in films and adds a dignity
and charm to his performance
that will win him many hearts.
Playing the role of Miss Starr's
father, he gives a convincing and
sincere characterization.
Good old western action, a
love story and a good dose of
comedy completes the picture
which was directed by MiL-
burne Morante.
