HOME ECONOMCIS GIRLS TAKE
COOK HIKE THURSDAY
Last Thursday afternoon the
third year home economic girls
with their teacher, Miss Hart, ac-
complished and enjoyed one of
the department's most interesting
class projects. The class of 14
members and Miss Hart left about
2:30 with a carefully planned
menu and plenty of good things
to eat that are always enjoyed on
a picnic.
After a journey of about four
miles the party thought it a good
idea te stop and eat.
But alas! Nothoing was cooked
to eat. Everything except the
bread had to be cooked before
those; appetites could be satisfied;
however no time was wasted in
building a fire, and soon everyone
was husy performing her duty in
preparing ttte picnic lunch..
Several of the girls who hiked
barefooted down the highway for
a short distance* .said they dis-
covered one boy going to M. H. S.
The progress made so far by
the Girls' Basket Ball team, coach-
ed by Miss Gibson, is to be highly
commended. The girls have been
making trips to Golden for work- i
outs twice each week. Monday's \
and Thursday's. The first, game will!
probably be v.ith Quitnnr tomor-
row night.

SS€K AT HIS
STOMACH
"I v7as suffering from
stomach trouble, in 1917,"
eaya Air. C. K. Nelson, a
railroad engi-
neer living in
Pulaski, Va. "I
had a tightness
in my chest,
a shortness of
breath. There
seemed to be a
heavy weight
in the pit of my
stomach, and
quite a bit of
nausea, yet I
couldn't vomit.
I tried different
remedies, yet
suffered on just the same.
"When in West Virginia
on a work train, I was in
such a condition that I
just gave up and came
home. I couldn't stand to
work, in my condition.
Some one told me about
Black-Draught. I started
taking it in small doses
after meals. It helped
me, and 1 went back to
work."
