A History Club.
A history olub was organized
Nov. 24 under the direction of
Miss Vanzant at the High School
for the benefit of the eleventh
grade students. The club is
known as the American History
Club and is ruled by an ad-
ministrator from the class whose
term of office expires at the end
of two weeks and a secretary for
the year. Virgil Shelton's ad-
ministration closed Friday, Nov.
25. with Detroit Peters as suc-
cessor. The work already ac-
complished is encouraging and
every member seems at Detroit
Peters command to make the
second term interesting. Virgie
Fisher as secretary, is keeping a
complete record including de-
portment, current events and dai-
ly recitation.Compliments to Mies
Vanzant and the eleventh Grade.

DeMauri-Wilkerson
John A. DeMauri of Henrietta
and Miss May Wilker9on of this
city were quietly married Thurs-
day afternoon at the home of
Rev. A. D. Rogers, pastor of the
First Christian church, Rev.
Rogers performing the marriage
oeremony.
The bride is a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. N. R. Wilkerson of
near Denton and is well known
here. Mr. DeMauri formerly
lived at Pilot Point, this county
but for the past year ha9 been in
business at Henrietta.
Mr. and Mrs. DeMauri left on
the afternoon southbound train
for Henrietta, where they will
make their home.—Record and
Chronicle.

Henry D. Harrison Jr. came,
up from A. & M. College during
Thanksgiving to spend a day
with relatives.
Miss Lote Pearce of Anna, ai-
tended the funeral of H. Clay
Pearce last Friday.
Died.
Mrs. Kate Burch, wifeofChas.
W. Burch, died at her home in
this city last Saturday morning,
after an illness of three months.
Mrs. Burch was born in Lamar
county, Texas, Aug. 13, 1872,
and resided there until her mar-
riage, after which time she
has lived in Denton, Aubrey
and the last five years in Pilot
Point. She was the mother
I of ten children, six of whom are
j living, the youngest being three
i years of age.
| She professed Christ at an
! early ege and joined the M. E.
| Church, south, though of late
years had not maintained her
relation with the Churoh.
Besides her husband and six
children, she leaves a brother,
and two halfbrothers, in Wise
county, and a sister and half-
brother in Lamar county, all of
whom have the sympathy of their
many friends in their bereave-
ment.
The funeral services were
held at the residence Saturday
afternoon at 1 o'clock conduct-
ed by Rev. B. F. Logan, with
interrment at the Wilson Ceme-
tery, about 7 miles southwest of
Pilot Point.
