Entertained.
Last Tuesday at the beautiful
home of Mr. and Mrs. Pondrom,
occured one of the most enjoy-
able events of the season, when
Miss Mary their daughter, enter-
tained in honor of Misses Bessie
Clifton of Fort Worth, Corrir.ne
Home of San Marcos and Jonnie
King of Denton.
The afternoon was spent in
"Hearts." One feature of the
occasion was the beautiful hand-
painted score-card. Miss Lula
Wilt in well chosen words pre-
sented Miss Florine Bradford
with a pair of silk hose for the
highest score. In cutting for
the guest's prize, Miss Mattie
Barnum presented a hand paint-
ed picture to the lucky one, Miss
Corrinne Home.
Mrs. Pondrom, assiste 1 by
Mrs. Choeman Pondrom and
Mias Daisy Peters served delici-
ous refreshments of ice cream
and marguerites. Each one
left praising their hostess for a
most pleasing and delightful
afternoon.
Following are the guests:
Misses Jonnie King, Corrinne
Home, Bessie Clifton, Lula
Witte, Mattie Barnum, Bertha
Pickel, Rhea Ellis, Florine Brad-
ford, Mabel Gainer and Daisy
Peters.

St. Thomas School Closes.
The closing exercises of St.
| Themas Parochial school were
held last Wednesday, May 31.
after a very successful year un-
der the able direction of the Sis-
ters of Divine Providence.
A short program of Music and
recitations entertained the visit-
ors in a most acceptable style;
the manner in which the respec-
tive numbers were rendered was
most creditable to the pupils,
and spoke volumes for the ad-
mirable training they received
at the hands of their excellent
teachers.
At the close of the entertain-
ment Rev. J. A. Schauf said a
few words of congratulation to
those who were responsible for
the fine entertainment and
congratulated the Sisters on the
success of their efforts in the
cause of christian education.
The sisters will leave today for
their home in San Antonio.
