1 met Monday afternoon at the
home of Mrs. Raymond Aaron.
Mrs. C. E. Revelle opened the
meeting with a prayer. Mrs.
R. H. Coleman gave a very in-
teresting talk on World Con-
ditions. Devotional was given
by Mrs. Howard Lott.
A short business meeting fol-
lowed, with Circles one and
three voting to work together
for the remainder of the year.
All Circles will meet next Mon-
day, March 3, at the church.
On March 10 they will enter-
tain with a tea at the home
of Mrs. C. B. Templeton, at
which time they will start the
new study book on China.
Mrs. Yedder closed the meet-
ing with a prayer.

Society of Christian Service
met at the home of Mrs. R.
C. Dean Monday afternoon.
The meeting was opened with
a prayer by Mrs. K. L. Jones.
Mrs. Sam Jones and Mrs. Omar
Aaron gave a very interesting
lesson on prayer. The devo-
tional was given by Mrs. W.
L. Smallwood. A short busi-
ness meeting followed, and
Mrs. Smallwood was elected
study leader.
Refreshments were served to
the following: Mesdames Rape,
Felts, Hemphill, Stone, Jones,
Williamson, Aldrich, Shelburne.

Largest Forest
Tree Planting
Program Through
The largest forest tree plant-
ing program ever initiated on
private lands by the Texas
Forest Service. A&M College,
has just been completed, ac-
cording to an announcement
by Director E. O. Siecke. Al-
most 1,300,000 pine trees were
set out, an all time high since
the reforestation work was
started fifteen years ago. This
does not include planting by
other agencies.
Farmers planted over 830,000
seedlings, two-thirds of the
season's total. About half of
these, foresters estimated, were
set out under AAA tree plant-
ing provisions.
Land owners other than
farmers planted 275,000 trees.
The 170,000 balance was set
out at oublic schools, commun-
ity forests, faim security pro-

at the new Texas Forest Ser-
vice nursery near Alto. A lim-
ited number was also produc-
ed at the small nurseries on
State Forests near Conroe and
Kirbyville.

Club Meets
The Twentieth Century Club
met Wednesday afternoon, Feb.
26, with Mrs. C. E. Revelle act-
ing as hostess and leader.
Roll call was answered with
Native Plants or Wild Flbwers.
The hostess gave a very in-
teresting talk on Flower Pag-
eants of the Mid-West. Mrs.
J. D. Hudson talked on Rock
Gardening, and Mrs. James
Judge concluded the program
with a talk on Along the Gar-
den Path for Early Spring.
