Big Poole swore up and down this
year that he wouldn't go out for the
tennis team, but we *ee that he has
purchased a new racquet and is out
warming up his drives for the coming
spring. Ijirry's appearance on the
court* again brightens to some extent
the prospects for a winning tennis
team this year He is a mean wielder
of the bat, and several years ago was
an good as ihere was around this cam- j
pus and several others, too. The boys J
have been working out on the concrete
courts for the la:it ten days or so. They
report the new courts very fast, but
lightly hard to get used to after p.ay-
ing on the old surfaces. At least the
new courts give the team the oppor-
tunity to work out shortly after a
wet speU, while their work would be
greatly hampered by the mud on the
old courts.
